Gauge
Project Info
An AI-powered nutrition and training companion — log meals in plain English or with a photo, and get calorie and macro targets that adapt to how you actually train.
Challenge
Food logging fails for the same reason most habits fail: friction. Database-search loggers turn every meal into a chore, and static calorie targets ignore the thing that matters most for people who train — what their body actually did that day. Gauge needed to make logging feel like jotting a note, and make targets feel like they were written by a coach who watched the workout.
Solution
We built logging around language and photos instead of database searches — type "in-n-out burger and a shake" or snap a picture, and AI parses it into calories and macros. Targets adapt continuously: an adaptive TDEE model folds in real training data from HealthKit, Health Connect, and Strava, so a hard session earns a different day than a rest day. An AI coach lives in the app for questions, adjustments, and accountability. Home and lock screen widgets keep the day's numbers one glance away, and an MCP connector lets members talk to their own data from AI assistants. A companion marketing site handles the waitlist, legal, and connector auth.
